I believe we are on the correct trajectory, but it will take time, we have Pharma evils to overcome. Big Pharma operates much like Sicilian Crime Families (Mob). In philosophy and how they do business, arm twisting, etc.
I thought only the US and NZ had prescription drug ads, but my dad in Belgum told me recently that now they have these on their TV too! Not sure if this is true, my dad might not know about prescription or not, but still, I hope he is wrong!
Trust me, the US is the only country I know of and have lived in that advertises drugs like they are candy and completely negates the side effect. It's almost like "of course I should take this drug for the possible symptoms and of course the side effects are just part of the price to pay...why wouldn't I want to give myself 100 more side effects for the possibility of 1 temporary symptom being removed" ...this logic would be considered nothing short of astonishing but only in the US do you walk into a grocery store and grab 1 of 5 chemical dyes that are supposed to help you with cold symptoms and call it medicine 😅. Nutrition? Nope, calories are nutrition, food won't heal you, eat your Oreos and take this pill and you'll do that until one of your organs fail you. That's the "American way" it seems 😅
that were indeed my first impressions when I moved here. People take meds like candy, they are sold in every possible store without anyone paying any attention (Belgium - drugs only in pharmacy, Netherlands and Germany have drug stores like Walgreen). The aisles with chemical food - we could buy it in Europe but there were maybe 6 or 7 different cerials and here 100s... disgusting use of corn syrup in everything, and everything I knew with 5 ingredients, here has 25 LOL. I still cook European, and watch closely what is in everything, and buy European stuff whenever I can. If I go out to eat, 2 or 3 times a month, I go to a trusted Mexican place. I think indeed that dad was mistaken.
I thoroughly agree. Advertising to MDs, via medical magazines and scientific publications is ethical: shoving magic drugs with funny names down the public's throat via TV ads is pernicious, deceptive, fraudulent and dangerous.
Applause IF this happens…I’m a bit skeptical but it NEEDS to happen! 🙏

Finally!! This makes so much sense! NO ADS!!! The US is almost the only country running these ads. Big Harma is the money behind them!
